Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies is getting a third map before the end of 2024. Treyarch has officially announced a release date and are slowly rolling out more details.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies released back in November with two brand-new Zombies experiences for players to enjoy. Just over a month since it's launch, BO6 Zombies will receive a third map with a new Main Quest and other Easter Eggs for players to complete and unlock exclusive rewards.
Last week the brand-new map was announced as Citadelle des Morts, or Citadel of the Dead to English speakers. It is based in a French medieval castle, much like Der Eisendrache in Black Ops III.
What do we know about Citadelle des Morts?
Citadelle des Morts will obviously be a round-based Zombies experience. It is set in a medieval castle that is actually located in Avalon, an upcoming Warzone map expected to release late next year.
Rumors have been circulating about the maps theme, wonder weapons, and storyline implications since the end of the Terminus Main Quest cutscene. Weaver, Gray, Carver, and Maya will return as the maps main characters.
It has been suggested that Citadelle des Morts will feature 4 elemental Swords for players to build and upgrade with abilities like Fire, Electric, Ice, and Earth as the special abilities, again, much like we saw with the Bows in Black Ops III Der Eisendrache.
The map is set in "modern day" which is 1991 in the Black Ops 6 universe. We can probable expect medieval-style traps like the the Lion-head Cannon seen above, potentially draw bridges or other castle-related defensive mechanisms.
Citadelle des Morts will officially release on December 5. It is also worth noting that the Main Quest and other Easter Eggs will be live and available as soon as the map launches. What time of day the map will drop remains unclear.
We are expecting even more details, including a reveal trailer, to drop any day now as we get closer and closer the release date of the map.
