It has been over 5 years since Borderlands 3 and its subsequent DLC released on PC and consoles, with players desperately wanting the next entry in the franchise. Gearbox Software have taken to social media to share details about BL4 and its release date.
When is the Borderlands 4 Release Date?
The official release date for Borderlands 4 is September, 23rd, 2025. That is of course providing that it doesn't get delayed. Pre-Orders are not yet available which means that from a legal stand-point, Gearbox can delay it's release until any date they see fit. Once Pre-Orders go live they are legally obliged to release it within a 12 month period.
What is Borderlands 4 All About?
Borderlands 4 will continue the saga of the Vault Hunters, focusing on a new adventure where players search for secret alien treasure. The game is set on a new planet named Kairos, which was introduced after Lilith used her Siren powers to teleport Pandora's moon, Elpis, away, thereby destroying the protective barrier around Kairos.
Players will one again don their Vault Hunter hats, leading the resistance against a ruthless dictator known as the Timekeeper and his army, the Order.
Borderlands 4 will be the first game in the franchise to offer a "seamless" world without loading screens, it'll have new vehicles, and transversal tools like grappling hooks. You'll be able to play solo or with up to three friends.
